Oriental Red Cabbage

Serves 4 to 6 

Ingredients

1 medium to large red cabbage 

1 Tbs. macadamia oil (or any other oil of choice) 

1 Tbs. garlic, chopped

1 tsp. sea salt 

1 tsp. black pepper

1/3  cup balsamic vinegar

¼ cup tarami sauce 

1 Tbs. cumin 

Garish  

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius
  2. Slice the cabbage into quarters, leaving the core in 
  3. Lay the cabbage on baking sheet and sprinkle with macadamia oil, garlic, salt and pepper
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes 
  5. While the cabbage is cooking, heat the balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over medium-high heat 
  6. Lightly simmer until the mixture has reduced by half 
  7. Add the tamari sauce and lightly simmer
  8. When the cabbage is ready, drizzle ¼ cup of the balsamic reduction onto the cabbage and top with more if needed
