Load up on good fats with this Chocolate and Coconut Smoothie. Coconut oil has been shown to promote weight loss as it speeds up metabolism, so add it into your daily meal plan wherever you can.
NOTE: replace coconut oil with almond milk and grapeseed oil if you have raised LDL cholesterol levls.
Ingredients
1 cup water
¼ cup coconut oil
½ cup nuts (macadamia, cashew or almond)
¼ cup cacao powder
½ cup desiccated coconut
1 banana
3 dates (depending on sweetness you like)
dash of vanilla powder
Optional superfoods: Mesquite, Maca,
Directions
Add nuts and desiccated coconut to blender and blend on high, until nuts are a smooth paste
Add water, coconut oil, cacao powder, banana, pitted dates and vanilla powder. Blend on high until smooth.
Add more water or ice for a runnier consistency.
